Stephen is the Head of Security & Resilience for the UK Space Agency where he is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and resilient space operating environment for civil space applications. He has had a varied career covering diverse sectors from Space to Chemicals to Telecoms. He worked for British Aerospace Space Systems (later to become part of Airbus) as a Software Engineer, working on various satellites (including Olympus 1), test equipment and ground stations. He has spent over 20 years in security roles for the Civil Service, including working on securing the London Olympics, police CBRN operational response and counter terrorism technologies. His role in the UKSA allowed him to merge his passion for space and his experience in national security matters into one role.
