Nick Shave FRAeS, Managing Director, Astroscale UK Nick joined Astroscale in June 2022 to lead the development of the Astroscale business in the UK and Europe, in particular the LEO satellite End of Life (EoL) servicing and Active Debris Removal (ADR) business lines. Nick’s experience includes space systems engineering, strategic business development, programme management, general business management, and senior customer account management, along with operational leadership for a business of 180 staff, sales of over $100m per year, and programmes in excess of $200m in value. He was formally Vice President Strategic Programmes at Inmarsat (2016-2022), and previously held senior roles at CGI, Logica, Airbus UK, Thales Alenia Space France, and at the UK MOD Defence Research Agency at Farnborough. Nick was Chair of UKspace from 2020 to 2022, leading the engagement with the UK Government on industrial consultation for the first UK National Space Strategy. Nick is educated to MBA level and holds a Masters in Spacecraft Technology & Satellite Communications from University College London. He served on the Council of the Royal Aeronautical Society from 2020-2023, where he is a Fellow. He is a Trustee for the UK Students for Exploration and Development of Space (UK SEDS) charity.
