Helen Roberts joined the UK Space Agency in March 2010 and was appointed to the role of General Support Technology Programme (GSTP), Programme Manager in 2018. A career civil servant she has worked in a variety of roles across government, developing and building on her skillset. During her time at the UK Space Agency some of her most notable achievements have included UK delegate to the European Space Agency Industrial Policy Committee; leading on the successful delivery and evolution of the biennial, highly acclaimed UK Space Conference since its inception in 2011 until 2021; the initiation and development of the UK Space Agency’s Business Incubation Network; and the implementation of a highly effective and transparent GSTP process, which has resulted in an unparalleled level of interest from the sector, particularly from start-ups and micro-SMEs, and providing support to them in the development of their new and innovative technologies. She is a qualified and experienced project and programme manager.
