Joanne is a leading expert in satellite and space law, policy, regulation and commercial contracts, having worked at Ofcom, ESA and for over 20 years in private legal practice. She was awarded an MBE for services to the UK space industry and won the Financial Times European Legal Innovator of the Year award. She is the Chair of the Satellite Finance Network, the Prospero Space Fellowship and Director of the Earth&Space Sustainability Initiative. She is Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Aeronautical Society. She was appointed as an honorary Professor by the University of Leicester in 2022.
