In 2012, Gary moved into a management position with accountability for Manufacturing Technology Capability and specific responsibility for external projects conducted via the Rolls-Royce Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AxRC) network. These technology projects deliver TRL maturity and include multiple technology areas.

In 2021, Gary became the Head of Manufacturing Innovation and is leading innovation & technology programmes to advance the capability of manufacturing to support new & novel Rolls-Royce power products in exciting new domains, such as Space.
