30 years in the space industry Justin Byrne is Head of Earth Observation, Science and Exploration UK and Head of Science and Mars Exploration Programs Europe, managing Prime projects for ESA, NASA and other agencies. Responsible for a number of challenging Spacecraft missions including Aeolus, Lisa Pathfinder, GAIA, JWST MIRI, Solar Orbiter, Bepi Columbo and Juice. Current missions include Earthcare, Biomass, Ariel, Exomars Rover/Lander and MSR Return Orbiter with pre-development ongoing for Truths and Vigil. Previous missions and technologies: First major telecommunication satellite on board digital processing payload, active laser payloads, advanced chemical and electric propulsion, robotic and automation technologies.
