Prior to taking up the appointment of Deputy CEO for UK Space Agency, Chris was the Senior Responsible Owner (job share) for Rail Transformation Programme in the Department for Transport. The programme delivered a simpler and better railway for Britain through structural, commercial, retailing and workforce reforms. Previously Chris had a 25-year career in defence and aviation, including as programme director and chief engineer in the international programme office for the Typhoon aircraft programme in Munich. Chris lives in Gloucestershire and beyond his day job is a trombone teacher, music charity trustee and non-executive director of a multi-academy school trust.
