Christina is the Space Technology Lead for Space Hub Yorkshire, the Space Cluster for the Yorkshire region. Space Hub Yorkshire is a coordinator of Space activity across the Yorkshire region, a catalyst for new satellite and geospatial data markets, a source of Space expertise, a facilitator of new collaborations, a driver of investments, a champion for Space start-ups, and an advocate for Space research and industry opportunities. Before joining Space Hub Yorkshire, Christina was a visiting lecturer of Physics and Astronomy at Oberlin College in the USA, leading research into the make-up of stars and the atmospheres of planets as well as teaching courses in physics and astronomy. Before that, Christina spent five years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in planetary sciences at York University in Toronto where she was also a member of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory (“Curiosity”) Rover Science Operations Team, planning and scheduling activities for the rover. Christina holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Manchester's Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics where she specialised in determining the make-up of stars at the ends of their lives.
