More and more of the greatest challenges facing our planet will have solutions in part from space. As we enter a new era in the space sector characterised the development of large-scale infrastructure, this spotlight session will outline how Space Based Solar Power is the next key opportunity for the space sector to address critical terrestrial needs. It will describe the urgent need and the compelling benefits of Space Based Solar Power in decarbonising our energy generation and enhancing energy security without causing energy poverty. It will outline Space Solar plans to deliver commercial power in nine years and a first GW system in 12 years and how delivering this will be the catalyst for a new era of economic development in space.
