Tony is the Head of Space Technology for the UK Space Agency and is responsible for setting the direction of, and overseeing, UKSA support for space technology in the UK. He is also the Agency lead liaison for UK and overseas links, including standards and some military aspects, and supports a number of national and international Space steering boards.
His work also delivers cutting edge technology, commercialisation, runs the UKSA’s only facility and develops pioneering British space potential. Working closely with international partners, such as the European Space Agency Tony aligns UK for future multiple mission use for future UK exploitation and helps build high risk, high reward and paradigm shift technologies for, and beyond, the sector.
Prior to joining the UK Space Agency, Tony worked in education as a successful, qualified Headteacher of a secondary school having been a long-term outstanding practitioner leading the Science subjects, specialising in Physics and Astronomy. He continues to work in education as a vice-chair of governors and is also a specialist consultant to help inspire school-age students.
