Starting a career as a Manufacturing Engineer at “EADS Astium” (now Airbus) in 2004, Victoria gained valuable experience from the very beginning, in understanding and appreciating the complexities of building, testing & launching space hardware. Joining SSTL in 2010 , Victoria successfully lead the UK’s successful & collaborative In-Orbit Demonstration project” TechDemoSat-1” from bid , through launch and operations in 2014 , and eventually the intentional de-commissioning and de-orbit in 2019. During this period, this expertise was furthered, managing a number of other builds, including the constellation FormoSat-7, and Programme Managing the Spacecraft build of the UK’s “Remove Debris” mission, launched in 2018 .Recognizing the value of true on project experience, Victoria transitioned into a Business Development role, working in the early stages with customers in the art of the possible, shaping successful programs and balancing the needs of customers with the engineering challenges true innovation poses. In 2017 she transitioned to the Head of Earth Observation , and latterly into Head of Export and Space Safety for SSTL. Moving to MDA Space in 2023, Victoria is now the Head of Business Development and Sales for MDA Space UK, where she remains actively involved and an advocate for the success of the UK Space sector.
