Jenny Carter holds a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellowship at the University of Leicester, with a focus on magnetospheric-ionospheric coupling. Her career started at the European Space Agency, and her thesis explored X-ray emission from the Earth’s exosphere, leading to missions such as SMILE. Jenny leads coordination between SMILE and ground-based experiments. Jenny is an alumni of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science Rising Talents UK & Ireland award 2020 and was awarded the Royal Astronomical Society’s Caroline Herschel’s prize lectureship 2021. She leads the Elfen mission concept. Jenny is passionate about the public engagement of science.
