Sarah is the Director of RAL Space, the UK’s National Space Laboratory, which undertakes work in research, technology & innovation, specialist engineering, data services and large-scale facilities such as the National Satellite Test Facility and Chilbolton Observatory. Initially a research scientist, she worked as instrument scientist on Europe’s first mission to the Moon and was project manager on various solar and planetary science missions. She has been active in defining UK and European strategies for solar system science, sitting on several national and international advisory panels on behalf of the community. She currently Chairs the cross-UKRI Space Coordination Group.
